The Bible tells us to "look to the heavens" if we want to get an idea of what God is like. There are 100 billion stars in our galaxy alone and the average distance between each star is 30 trillion miles. The number of stars in the universe is about equal to the number of sand grains on all the beaches on all the earth. Driving five miles per second or roughly 17,000 miles per hour, it would take around 200,000 years to travel from one star to the next or to put it more simply, 200,000 years to go from one grain of sand to the next. Why does God compare Himself to the heavens? Because He has no limits and from our perspective neither do the heavens. God asks a question in Isaiah 40:25: "Who will you compare Me too? Or who is My equal?" Nothing can compare yo the greatness of God who calls all of His stars by name (Isaiah 40:26)
