Here are the details: Online Campaigns Manager Who We Are The Breast Cancer Fund is a San Francisco-based, national nonprofit organization that works to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease, translating science into practical actions people, policy makers and companies can take to protect us from toxic exposures. The Breast Cancer Fund coordinates the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a national coalition launched in 2004 to protect the health of consumers, workers and the environment by securing the necessary reforms to eliminate chemicals linked to cancer, reproductive harm and other adverse health impacts from cosmetics and personal care products. The Campaign’s work is multi-layered and innovative, effectively weaving together public education, market-based and legislative strategies to engage the public, move cosmetics companies toward safer production, and secure stricter regulation of the industry. The Breast Cancer Fund more recently launched Cans Not Cancer, a market-based campaign designed to get manufacturers to stop using the toxic chemical bisphenol A (BPA) to line their food cans and adopt safer alternatives. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for an online market-based campaigns manager to assume a senior leadership role within our fast-paced, innovative and dynamic Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and Cans Not Cancer Campaign teams; and to help manage the organization’s future market-based campaigns, bringing vision and exciting new engagement strategies to all of this work. This position reports to the Breast Cancer Funds Director of Program and Policy. Responsibilities • Serve as a senior member of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and Cans Not Cancer organizing teams. • Organizes, develops, and coordinates online email outreach, web-based advocacy, and helps facilitate online-to-offline integration of members and supporters. • Works closely with Campaign teams to develop digital marketing strategies to achieve Campaign goals and objectives, reach new targeted audiences, acquire new supporters, convert activists to donors and create and implement compelling online advocacy and fundraising efforts. • Designs and executes corporate targeting strategies and develop and maintain action- targeting calendar including corporate, retail, and legislative/regulatory targets. • Develops and oversees online organizing strategy in multiple digital channels. • Monitors analytics and other engagement trends to ensure supporters are optimally engaged. • Develops issue framing and strategic messaging to engage Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and Cans Not Cancer supporters to take action and support the organization and its market-based advocacy efforts. • Coordinates with the Social Media Strategist to plan and implement weekly social media strategies on a variety of BCF Campaign platforms including Facebook and Twitter (with additional platforms to be determined). • Strategically develops and manages new market-based campaigns that further our organizational mission. • Desired (but not required): Independently create compelling visual content for Facebook and other social platforms to help promote our campaigns and fundraising. Qualifications and Skills: • Passion for environmental health issues and market-based campaigning. • Minimum three to five years of experience coordinating and planning campaign strategy in the nonprofit social-change advocacy arena, with specific emphasis in one or more of the following areas: strategic corporate engagement; corporate targeting in market-based campaigns; corporate sustainability; or outreach and relationship-building with sustainable businesses. • Ability to plan campaign strategy and tactics months in advance, coupled with the ability to respond to timely events and opportunities on the fly. • Knowledge of environmental health and/or toxics reduction issues preferred. • Strong grasp of key scientific issues, themes, and data related to the links between breast cancer and the environment, including those pertinent to cosmetic and personal care product safety; and bisphenol A and food packaging, and a desire to learn more. • Experience developing and implementing online activism campaigns. • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once, ability to work as part of a team, and ability to work effectively in a changing environment and self-directed manner. • Superior skills in written and verbal communication, analysis and networking. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire trust and respect among colleagues and external partners. • Excellent decision-making skills, strategic insight, professional initiative, time management and prioritization skills. • Good organizational skills, demonstrated initiative, flexibility and creativity. • Excellent decision-making skills, strategic insight, professional initiative, time management and prioritization skills. • Sense of humor a must!
