The Commonwealth is currently reviewing its entire structure, to streamline operations and align with our new strategic plan – in which young people are identified as a high priority (thecommonwealth.org/document/177370/256196/commonwealth_secretariat_strategic_plan_2013_2017.htm). So we are looking at ways to deliver a more dynamic and effective Commonwealth Youth Programme – fit for the next 40 years of impact. I’m currently visiting the CYP Centres to consult with staff and host governments on different options for the operating model for our youth affairs work - we want to continue to be relevant and responsive to the changing needs of young people, and the evolving paradigms of youth empowerment. As ever, the Commonwealth has a strong commitment to youth development, and delivering results on priorities identified by young people themselves.
