The Df grip! OK, Im going to be controversialI here, because I think the Df grip is absolutely fine, in fact, I think its excellent... but I havent always thought that way. Ive had my Df for a year now and the ONLY thing I REALLY disliked about it when I bought it, was the grip. It was simply not big enough. Coming from a D7000 then D7100 background I found it too small mostly because I always carry my camera in my right hand, with my fingers wrapped around the grip. I rarely if ever use a neck strap. The D7100 felt so solid I never used a wrist strap and could carry it all day without ever feeling as if Id drop it, after all, I could grip it tightly. I was absolutely certain however that the Df would drop out of my hand for sure so with a trip overseas coming up I decided, for the first time in my photographic life to buy a wrist strap. What Ive discovered after 12 months of shooting is that the Df swings perfectly, and I mean perfectly, on my three fingers, it almost defies physics as only the very tips of my fingers make contact with just a light pressure from my thumb at times. Its never slipped out of my fingers and I can carry it all day long just swinging on my fingers, even with a hefty 24-70mm 2.8 attached. I think we mostly dont like change and when a different grip comes along and it feels strange then we immediately dont like it. So that covers carrying the camera, but what about shooting with it? I find the grip great for shooting too, absolutely no problems... but I think Ill make another post about that :)
