The Ebola epidemic is gradually turning us into a pariah people. - TopicsExpress

The Ebola epidemic is gradually turning us into a pariah people. To rub salt into our wounds, we are being rejected by our fellow African countries that should have accepted us. This confirms our long-held suspicion that we are not loved by our African brothers. Our athletes are subjected to inhuman treatment at international sport competitions (the incident of the Youth Olympics and the action of Lesotho come to mind), and we are viewed generally like plague abroad. We are being made to undergo all forms of degrading tests at airports all over the world. This is worrisome and should be nipped at the bud before it becomes a recurring pattern in relations among countries. The world should know that the Ebola virus is not indigenous to Nigeria and has not assumed alarming proportions, as falsely reported abroad. Three people have died from the virus besides ten confirmed cases. It will be unjust to view all Nigerians as Ebola carriers for these cases. We are generally a healthy people.
