The Forest Preserve District of Kane County would like to thank everyone for making our 4th annual Hooked on Fishing at Lake Patterson in Oakhurst F.P. in Aurora this past Sunday a huge success! All the staff, volunteers and participants had a wonderful time teaching kids the finer points of fishing. From what bait to use, to how to put a worm on a hook all the way to making sure they are stewards of our shorelines was covered in this hands on educational event. Prizes for most fish and biggest fish were given out in several age categories. The District would also like to thank its sponsors for their support which include: Bass Pro Shops, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Woodman’s! Thanks again to all involved for such a great community event.
