The Good, Bad, and Ugly! The first label is from an Orville - TopicsExpress

The Good, Bad, and Ugly! The first label is from an Orville Rednebacher’s Popcorn bag. I used to eat this stuff ALL THE TIME! And not just 1 bag, I would eat 3 and count it as a meal. I’ve started looking at the ingredients of what I’m eating a lot more, and wanted to share some of these with you. Citric Acid can cause adic reflux, and it’s also used in cleaning solutions! And we put this in our foods why? TBHQ is used in foods to extend the shelf life, and I know I’ve seen that when buying things that seem like they should have a shorter shelf life, like coffee creamer and cheese. TBHQ is also used in pet foods, as well as in cosmetic and baby skincare products, varnish, lacquers and resins. It is used in the stabilisation process of explosive compounds. Consuming high doses may lead to nausea, delirium, collapse, ringing in the ears, and vomiting. Then there is Maltic Acid. High doses of malic acid have been reported to cause diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. It should also be avoided in woman pregnant and nursing. Not to mention all the GMO’s! I still love my popcorn, but I now prefer fit popcorn! It’s NON-GMO, and whole grain, as well as gluten free. It has about the same amount of ingredients, but the ingredients seem better! Popcorn, evoo, tapioca starch, sea salt, parsley and black pepper. Although the high-calorie content means olive oil is best used in moderation, most of the oils fat is monounsaturated, which is healthier than saturated fats from animal products such as butter. Tapioca starch is made from the root of the cassava plant, and is used as a thickener. It is low protein, gluten and wheat free, and has a bland taste, which is beneficial in adding to things.
