The Great Awakening was some of the background of Timothy’s - TopicsExpress

The Great Awakening was some of the background of Timothy’s Home. The story of Charles Finney coming into the factory in Whitesburo, NY was true. The weekly magazine our church gives to us each week had the story of how the evangelist went into the factory just to look at the machinery one day. When he came into the factory, the men shut down their machines and began to kneel on the floor and cry out to God for mercy. I pondered this scene for days and felt that it needed to be in Timothy’s Home. One of the men who repented in the factory became a fictional character in this book. He sought out Timothy’s father to tell him about Jesus. Cecil, Timothy’s father, was one of the meanest characters I have ever written, yet he found the Lord. I wanted this to reflect God’s amazing grace and how families can be restored with the Lord’s help. Our next prize is “Captivating”: Unveiling the Mystery of a Womans Soul [Kindle Edition] by John Eldredge. The message of Captivating is this: Your heart matters more than anything else in all creation. The desires you had as a little girl and the longings you still feel as a woman are telling you of the life God created you to live. He offers to come now as the Hero of your story, to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman. A woman who is truly captivating. ** What in your life makes you feel most Captivating? **
