The Greeks of Mariupol are against the maidan regime since they have been targeted by the neo-nazis of Pravy Sektor. I reproduce here information that come from George Pfitzner a German citizen of Greek descendant: Mariupol is home to Ukraines Greek minority...you are absolutely correct in your assessment. I heared from Ukrainian diaspora Greeks that the Right Sector and other Ukro-fanatics are of course targetting them (because they do not look slavic or white enough)...interestingly outside of Greece these incidents are NOT reported! Greeks also have a strong historical tie to Russia since Russia helped us to get independence from the Ottomans and Russia was also a refuge for Greeks who left Asia Minor to evade Turkish repression (my people migrated to Sochi from Trapezunt - today Trabzon)...in Russia proper Greeks have a good status and have their people in the economy and the political process...a much better integration and respect of their minority rights than lets say Turkey or other Balkan states...many Greeks have also gone back to Russia because of the Euro-crisis and Cyprus (little island Greece) is a financial hub for Russians...there is even a Pushkin park in Limassol and Russian supermarkets (although I cannot imagine eating Pelmeni with Smetana in 40 degrees celcius but that is another story) #maidan #antimaidan #mariupol #savedonbasspeople
