The Hoover Dam Story (The Red Dawn): Pt 15 As the smoke cleared, a short man dressed in his stealth armor, with his right arm extended and his hand formed into a universal “peace” sign, as the sentry bots sparkled and burnt behind him. “Argh… I LOVE dramatic entrances!” Joker smiled and said. “Sorry for stealing all the actions, I am sure you two can handle all of them quite easily, but you know, I like being the hero who saves the damsels.” Hu paused and thought back the fierce battle he and Ming just experienced, and then he replied hesitantly “Of…of course we could handle them by ourselves!” Joker replied him with his usual wide smile, his eyes almost formed into two lines. “Where is Jackal anyway? That lazy scoundrel.” Hu tried to hide his embarrassment and change the current topic. Ming looked around, also took noticed of the absence of their last comrade. “Oh, he said he wanted to do some checkups on the bombs, he told me to come down here first.” Joker replied. “We don’t have enough time to wait for him Dr Malcolm is right there, sitting in his stinking laboratory. All we gotta do is to go through that door.” Hu pointed at the big metal door at the end of the hallway. “Righto! DADDYO! Let’s do this” Joker exclaimed happily. Ming and Hu both looked at him in disgust clearly dissatisfied with his choice of words. “Sorry.” Joker apologized quietly, lowering his head. Ming looked heavy again, “It’s over though.” Ming exhaled, and sat down on the floor “They sounded the alarm. I am pretty sure the whole dam is filled with guards and machines, waiting for us.” Hu looked down at Ming, felt a rush deep shame coming from his heart. He looked away and stared at the floor, he could not face Ming. He knew it was because of him that the alarm was sounded. “Well… that indeed is a problem…” Joker said heavily, no longer has his usual grin on his face. “I mean, unless someone were to cut off the electric circuit in the main generator room between section 3B and 4H, while also disabling the alarm system from the lower levels to the main security system… Then we have a problem.” Joker finished with the biggest grin on his face, as if he was holding in the laugh for the longest time. Both Hu and Ming looked up at Joker with their jaws open; completely surprised and amazed at Joker’s skills in electronics. “That’s amazing!!!” Hu said with his booming voice, now sounding relieved and happy for the first time. BAM! BAM! BAM! Suddenly, a grotesque creature slapped the window in the room on their far right. The creature, with long claws on its hands, messy filthy hair on its palms and it grew all the way to its arms. Brown and yellow spikes and hair came out of its back, one of the spikes looked as if it grew deep inside from the body. The spike was so huge it prevented the creature from standing straight and forced the creature into an awkward slouching position. Its face was the most disturbing of all its unholy design. It has a humanoid skull yet, half of it was covered with scales and hair, the back of its head was fitted with 3 horns. “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” it screamed with its razor sharp fangs-filled jaw. The scream was so horrifying, it made the three men jumped and flinched. Then, the scream was answered by a storm of animal roars from within the room it was in, and unless Ming was mistaken, from the main laboratory. The bone chilling symphony of screams sounded as if someone was carving your skull with a blunt knife. The symphony ended with a sudden silence. The creature could no longer be seen from the window, and the screams could no longer be heard. The absence of the scream did not make things better, it left the men with deep suspense and questions as to what was going to happen. After a few moment of silence of what seems eternity, Joker spoke lightly “Well. I am not going over there.”
