The Hypocrisy of Dr. Muiz Banire. Need for caution if APC must be relevant in the Southwest We the entire members of Alliance for Good Governance (AGG), a non-governmental pressure group based in Lagos state with bias for All Progress Congress (APC) rose from our meeting dissecting the outcome of Ekiti gubernatorial election and have to call the National legal adviser of the party in person of Dr. Muiz Banire to order so that his actions will not rock the boat of the party, he has been going round sowing seeds of discord to tarnish the image of our leaders led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reduce their integrity to naught by saying that imposition of candidates should stop. Such statement from a party official at the national level is not only hypocritical but is tantamount to inciting party members against our leaders led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Who and who sat down with Dr. Muiz Banire to appoint him APC national legal officer if he is not imposed on us? Dr Muiz Banire have been a beneficiary of the system which the AD, ACN and APC adopts in selecting their officers, he single handedly picked the Local government chairman, Mr. Babatunde Adepitan, all Councilors and supervisors, and same unilateral decision he takes in other local government in the state. The present member representing Mushin Constituency 2 at the Lagos state house of assembly, Honourable Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla is also a stooge of Dr. Banire, his tactics is to present himself as acting under the instruction of our revered leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but Asiwaju Bola hmed Tinubu has not sent him to impose anybody in any of the local government and LCDA. He has turned himself to a demi god, issuing all sort of wanton instruction and taking unilateral decisions. Dr. Banire unilaterally imposed his immediate younger brother Mr. Ajibola Banire as the secretary to the local government of Ikoyi/Obalende LCDA to the consternation of the good people of that locality. He appointed and imposed members of Lagos state independent electoral commission (LASIEC). Ifelodun LCDA chairman was imposed on the people by Dr. Muiz Banire against the wish and desire of party members there to present a more popular candidate. At the State universal primary education board (SUPEB) he single handedly imposed and appointed the members. The havoc that the action and inaction of Dr. Muiz Banire in Odi-olowo LCDA cannot be quantified. Of note and highly disturbing is that Dr. Muiz banire have been sponsoring protest and rallies that there should be no imposition, this action is highly hypocritical coming from someone who have held mushin local government to ransom with his handpicked Local government party exco and ward exco. We would like to state in unequivocal terms that he has no moral right and justification to make such statements following the backdrop of the just concluded ward congress across some local government and LCDA’s. Dr. Banire have single handedly write the names of various ward and Local government excos and have used every means to sustain such ambiguous desperation. In Mushin Local government for an example there was never a ward and local government congress, the LGA Chairman Mr Aremo Ikufisile who is a stooge of Dr. Banire have spent two terms as LGA chairman but was imposed again as LGA chairman against the wish of the party members, the other LGA officers was selected among the surrogates and cronies of Dr. Banire in order to further perpetuate the desperation agenda which he is known for. Presently the 10 wards that make up Mushin local government have no elected ward excos but selected agents of Dr. Banire who are not popular in their various wards. He took his imposition further in appointed the state officer representing Mushin local government. It is unfortunate that various agitation of party members have fall on deaf ear as Dr. Banire still parades himself as a leader that is worthy of emulation. In the words of Henry A. Kissinger” The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been. But in the light of the prevailing charade and cult like amusement going on in the local government he has become a leader of few stooge, surrogate and ranting interlopers. The majority of the party members is aggrieved and have stand aloof and remain ambivalent The Alliance for Good Governance (AGG) (Mushin chapter) therefore sees the need to set the record straight by asking him to lead his stooge, surrogates and ranting interlopers without dragging the reputation of our revered leaders Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu to the mud with utterances that are capable of disjointing the strength of the party. Our prayer includes that the party hierarchy should call Dr. Muiz Banire to order so that the disaffection his action has caused in APC in various local governments would not escalate beyond repair, especially as we brace up for electioneering campaign. While we await a reasonable resolution of the impasse created by Dr. Banire in some local government, we state our commitment to All Progressive Congress (APC) ideals, hopes and aspirations. With the current stand of Dr. Muiz Banire and the cold war he has created in the party in Lagos state (especially Ikoyi/Obalende LCDA, Ifelodun local government and Mushin where the ember of disaffection have been fanned by him. We sincerely want to bring to the notice of our revered leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the inordinate thirst for power and act of desperation, with the hypocritical stand of Dr. Banire against imposition our revered and respected leader who Dr Banire claims he is his loyalist should look into this deeds and also use the opportunity of this expose to know who a sycophant, pretender and hypocrite and loyalist is. It should also be noted that Dr. Muiz Banire is living on past glory because he does not command the followership the party hierarchy are made to believe. Dr Banire is playing to the gallery and he is an attention seeker. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the incumbent governor of Osun state, a devoted and loyal member of our great party would not make such careless statement even when what they wanted from the party were not given to them at a time. We pledge our unflinching loyalty to our great leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the ideals of the party.
