Dr. Niepoetter began his musical instruction at age 7, and joined Elza Allen’s Centralia Jr. High School Band while still in fifth grade. Dr. Niepoetter took weekly clarinet lessons with James Loomis from 1979-1983. During that time Niepoetter was also a member of David Drillinger’s Centralia High School Band. Dr. Niepoetter also holds the bass clarinet position with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra in Hagerstown, and performs regularly with the Annapolis, Fairfax, and Alexandria symphonies. He has been a substitute with the National Symphony Orchestra and was invited to perform with the NSO on the 2004, 2005, and 2006 national concert tours.
