The Iraqi government has reportedly blocked Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for users in the country. Many believe that its to limit the spread of information by Sunni rebel fighters that took over several cities in Iraq this week. Photos of their successes against the Iraqi army spread widely on social media. It is unclear how widespread the block is throughout the country. The Iraqi government has not made an official statement regarding the block. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter say they are looking into the issue.
