The Irish Road Victims Association is a charitable NGO, run entirely by volunteers, advocating for Road Victims and Road Safety. Set up in 2012 by families bereaved by road traffic collisions and members of the Defense Forces who had lost comrades on the roads. We provide information and support to families who have been affected nationwide, free of charge. We work with all road safety stakeholders to try to reduce road dangers and to make our roads safer for all of us - Raising awareness of the Human Impact of Road Traffic Collisions, the real people behind the statistics. We mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims with a special event in Mullingar every year, where we have our Garden of Remembrance for Road Victims in Belvedere House & Gardens. We also work for improvements in investigations & coroners inquests and for charges which reflect the seriousness of taking a life or causing life altering injury. Not only so that justice is seen to be served for our bereaved families, but also to aid in the prevention of further loss of life and injury in totally avoidable collisions.
