The Jackson County Prevention Coalition (JCPC) is offering a free Responsible Beverage Service training to all on premise liquor license holders in the county. An on-premise TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) training is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Poor Farm in Monmouth. The coalition’s trainer, Jennifer Gerdes is a certified prevention specialist with the Area Substance Abuse Council. Gerdes is also certified in the (TIPS) curriculum. That curriculum addresses potential underage sales as well as service to intoxicated persons. Prior registration is required for the Nov. 5 training. Individuals and businesses wanting to participate or schedule a TIPS training for their establishment are asked to contact Gerdes at (563) 243-2124 or e-mailing [email protected].
