The Lady and Men Vikings basketball teams traveled to Battle Creek last night for a double header. The Ladies lost and the Men won. The Lady Vikings lost to Kellogg Community College last night by a score of 64-62. Despite coming back from a large deficit in the last minute with 2 three-pointers and a jumper from Alaina Schwarz and a three-pointer from DeOttia Robinson, the Vikings could not pull out a win. Their sluggish start and struggle to score throughout the game were too much for the Ladies. Leading scorer for the Vikings was DeOttia Robinson with 16 points and 5 steals. Following her were Anika Gasich 14 pts., Alaina Schwarz 12 pts., Courtney Moore 10 pts. and 14 rebounds, and Auzhane King 10 pts. The Mens team improved to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference with a 102-90 road victory over Kellogg. The Vikings were led in scoring by Lee Gardner with 33 points and Angelo Griffis with 27 points. Next up - The Lady and Men Vikings will host Muskegon Community College on Monday, 1/20/14. The Ladies will start the evening with a 5:30 p.m. game and the Mens game will follow at 7:30 p.m. GO VIKINGS!!!
