The Lady at the Diner. While vacationing in Rangeley my wife and I made several visits to the local diner and couldnt help but notice a sweet looking old lady wrapped in a shawl and an afghan blanket across her lap. She was always there sitting in the corner reading from a stack of papers and magazines piled around her. I asked our waitress about her and she said that was her 91 year old mother, Dorothy Evelyn, whom she brings to work every morning because mom wants to be near her daughter and loves the hubbub of the busy diner. The waitress, I believe her name was Sharon, said that after closing her mom helps with the sweeping and straightening up the tables before they go home for the evening. I believe we need more people in this world like Sharon who know what it means to keep your loved ones close while you still have them. Give a hug....it might come back to you.
