The Miley Cyrus Performance When I first heard of the Miley Cyrus performance and how raunchy it was, curiosity got the better of me, sorry. Needless to say, it was exactly what people were saying about it, disgusting. Her performance was more appropriate for the floor shows at a strip club and not for T.V. audiences. The VMA Awards show has had its share controversy in the pass and if you were looking it, it didn’t disappoint. Now back to Miss Cyrus performance. To say the least, it was embarrassing to watch and yet it was like seeing a horrible train wreck with bodies strewn all over the area and not being able to avert the eyes. The tongue sticking out, the foam finger between her legs simulating masturbation, and then her twerking with Robin Thicke standing behind her. I also know that it all about ratings and attention getting, yet I believe she and Robin should have used another approach. Overall, it was a terrible performance and the actions taken by the two just made it worse, but why. Why do such a nasty type of dancing that would have even shocked most hardened sailors, especially me and I have been three quarters of the way of the world. Their performance was supposed to be erotic, it missed on all counts. It was just plum stupid and I am being kind here. I was once at the age and I did a lot stupid things in the past, present, and I am sure I will continue to make my share of mistakes. There is an upside to all this, she can start growing up become the lady she needs to be and not turn into another Amy Winehouse or go down the road of LiLo. I know that sounds harsh and if this strikes a chord into someone, then so be it. I hope that those fans of Miley don’t think that her actions at the VMA Awards was something to emulate, it is not. Just think of it another way, would you dance like that in front of your parents. I hope not. I will continue this discussion tomorrow and I will comment on why I think Miley did a performance like she did.
