The Mouse Blitzkrieg has moved onto more serious requirements. Despite live-trapping and transporting mice far away from home, we have still had an influx. Were also working on sealing up any entrances to the home. One problem is even if I release them elsewhere, theyll likely be displaced since the high population means less room and less food. Ive made the decision to switch to lethal traps, heavy duty quick-kill snap traps that provide a quick death. I abhor the use of glue traps and poisons. Not only is it a slow death and dangerous to non-target animals, any target that escapes will die and rot somewhere just out of reach and stink up the place. Just this morning, 4 were dispatched in traps in the kitchen. One was caught just 30 minutes after I set them. Id rather be the one doing it than those around us, who might be using poisons and are definitely using cruel bucket traps to drown the poor things. The dead mice will be taken out to the woods for other creatures to use.
