The NBA is at the threshold of history again. Candidates have filed all their briefs and some of us have familiarized ourselves with the various branches. I greet the various branches for the warm receptions accorded us.The power to move the NBA forward lies with all the branches and the delegates. The power to make the NBAs voice to be heard on national issues and respected lies with with your votes. It is said that one cannot do the same thing all the time and expect sa different result. OLUKUNLE OGHENEOVO EDUN is bringing innovation and vibrancy to the Publicity Department of the NBA,where, amongst other innovative ideas, a synergy would be evolved where all the Pub Secs/information managers of all the branches,fora sections of the NBA would work in unison for the purpose of having a pool of information about the activities of all the branches and fora of the NBA. A portal will be created for this purpose, so that every major event happening in Offa, Gusau,Lagos,Ekpoma,Okene,Orlu,Orji River,Abeokuta,Warri, Illesha and other branches can be assessed with a click. I intend working with the leadership of the NBA to have an effective liason with other NGOs in Nigeria for the purpose of making the activities of the NBA well publicized to the generality of Nigerians. The advent of the social media outlets has made information sourcing and gathering easy and effectively disseminated in any place in Nigeria. The above and many other programmes are the innovations i intend bringing to the NBA. Constitutionality, the Pub Sec is the image make of the Association; and with my experience in attending international and local conferences (including relating with the corporate world) and editors of the print and electronic media understand that diplomatic and effective communication is key to projecting the Association. This entails how the Pub Sec addresses the audience and stakeholders on issues,pertaining to the Association , and more importantly how he is dressed and effective in the use of words to make the desired positive impact. Having served in various capacities in the Warri bar (past Pub Sec,Alternate Chair,Publication Committee,Member Anti Corruption and Justice Sector Committee,presented speeches in several seminars organized by NGOs ,participated actively in radio/TV Legal talk-shops etc) i have the desired confidence,vibrancy,and technology-driven passion to raise OUR NBA to the level we all shall be proud off. My 15 years of active legal practice has prepared me adequately for this position. A vote for me on the 15th of July,2014 would bring the desired positive change.
