The NUS, who refused to condemn public beheadings because it didnt - TopicsExpress

The NUS, who refused to condemn public beheadings because it didnt want to encourage Islamophobia is a great example of a British Trade Union. People only join it to get discount on books and beer and the collective power of these thrifty individuals is harnessed and exploited by a bunch of power hungry wannabe career politicians who have no mandate whatsoever to do anything from most of their members other than to negotiate discounts and organise social events. I was a member of the T&GWU myself for a while. Same thing applied there, more or less, except the membership was motivated by fear rather than avarice.
