The Ottawa Valley Music Festival’s concert in Eganville on Sunday June 23rd will include a performance by local musician Maria Petrini-Woolley. Currently studying music at Mohawk College, Hamilton, the multi-talented Maria plays flute, violin, piano and guitar. Winner of several music awards in the Ottawa Valley and a past member of the Pembroke Symphony, Maria has been chosen as the Young Performer for the Eganville concert. She will be performing the Allegro movement of Handel’s Sonata in G Major and the Sarabande from Bach’s Partita in A Minor Maria was the winner of an Ottawa Valley Music Festival scholarship in 2012. The Ottawa Valley Music Festival Scholarship Programme encourages area high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in classical music.
