The Passover And How Jesus Fulfilled It.... The redemptive work - TopicsExpress

The Passover And How Jesus Fulfilled It.... The redemptive work of Jesus is seen in the Passover candles. 1. The candles used in the Passover service represent the light and glory of God. Jesus is the Light and He is the glory of God. “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12” (NKJV) “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 (NKJV) 2. One candle represents Creation. Jesus is the Creator. “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16 (NKJV) 3. One candle represents Redemption, Jesus is the Redeemer. “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us…” Titus 2:13-14 (NKJV) Jesus Christ is the great “I Am”. He is not the great “I Used To Be” or the great “I Will Be One Day.” He is the Eternal One. He is ever present and all sufficient. The name “I Am” also declares who He is in His person. When Jesus says “I Am,” He is not saying that He has something we need, but that He is who we need. Jesus said… 1. I am the Bread of Life (John 6:35-51). 2. I am the Light of the World (John 8:12; John 9:5). 3. I am the Door of the Sheep (John 10:7-9). 4. I am the Good Shepherd (John 10:11-14). 5. I am the Resurrection and Life (John 11:25). 6. I am the Way, Truth, and Life (John 14:6). 7. I am the True Vine (John 15:1-6). Goodnight!
