The Presidents recent transportation proposal to Congress could allow for additional tolling on interstate highways like the Staten Island Expressway...a road already plagued by abysmal traffic and potholes....not to mention the astronomical tolls we already pay on the Verrazano, Goethals, and Outerbridge. Staten Islanders already face the highest tolls and the longest commutes in the country….add to that the arm and leg it costs to fill up at the pump, fix your car after a pothole run-in, plus the already enormous cost of living in New York. I will make sure my colleagues in Congress know how crippling additional tolls would be for our local economy and the hard-working families on Staten Island and Brooklyn.
