The Red Flag Warning has expired for Polk County, but the US National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC warns of Increased Fire Danger from Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon (1/26). A cold and dry air mass will remain across the foothills and piedmont of NC. Relative humidity values will fall into the 20-25% range by early afternoon. Winds will increase to 10-15mph with gusts up to 20mph, combined with very dry fuel moisture will lead to enhanced fire danger. Wildfires could allow wildfires to start and spread more easily.
