The Speech Never has the college football world heard or witnessed such a simple yet profound humble and moving speech on the highest platform that will be forever remembered by the world. Marcus Mariotas speech was just like a prayer, always thanking, praising and blessing the lives of those that helped him as a youth and as a champion. A speech such as that could only be read by Marcus Moriota and nobody else to have the moving power that it did, and which is why he was destined for this award and hand chosen by God. As I stood anxiously in front of my television set and listened to the words he uttered I teared up because I know that we all can relate to his up bringing and way of life growing up in Hawaii. He is proud of his samoan culture and being from Hawaii but the thing that really stood out to me is how he recognized his brother in his speech a thing that most players wouldnt even fathom to do.
