The State Government is calling for motorists to suggest roads where they think the speed limit should either be increased or decreased. Do you have any suggestions for roads in Warwick? Have your say here... outhern Downs constituents can have now have their say about road safety with a government review into speed limits across Queensland. Member for Southern Downs, Lawrence Springborg, said, “The aim of the review is to simplify speed limits in Queensland and ensure that they are applied consistently across the state. To do this the government is conducting a state wide review to identify roads where the speed limit may need to be increased or decreased as roads due to confusing or inconsistent speed limits or because there are too many speed zone changes. “To identify the roads to be reviewed we need input from the community. This is the first state-wide review conducted in Queensland and it is a great opportunity for local drivers to give the government quality feedback that could help improve roads in our area,” Mr Springborg said. In the next five weeks, everyone will have ample opportunity to have their say by making a submission. After all submissions have been received, Transport and Main Roads will work with local councils to identify the top 100 roads. This review is expected to take about six months to complete and the results will be published. Submissions can be made to • online at tmr.qld.gov.au/SpeedLimitReview until Friday, 6 September OR • posted to Speed Limit Review, PO Box 673, Fortitude Valley 4006.
