The Three Issues in the Andre Robinson Case First, What Andre - TopicsExpress

The Three Issues in the Andre Robinson Case First, What Andre Robinson did in kicking King, the cat, was terrible. There can be no doubt of that. But what Robinson did is not one bit different from what those who are not vegans support every day when they consume the bodies of, and products from, animals who have been tortured and killed. So if you object to what Robinson did to King--and you should--but you consume animal products, then you ought to think about your blatant inconsistency. Second, should Robinson be imprisoned? It depends on how you feel about punishing someone with jail time for something that is bad but not as bad as what non-vegans support and participate in every single day. The animals people eat have often been kicked on their way to slaughter; but they are all tortured and killed. King was adopted. I reiterate: what Robinson did was terrible. But what non-vegans participate in directly is worse. Third, what Robinson did was wrong, but it is also wrong to make racist comments about him. Unfortunately, some animal advocates have done just that. Indeed, in addition to other comments I have seen, yesterday, some animal advocate called Robinson pimpish on the Justice for King page. That is just plain racism. Another animal advocate acknowledged that comment was racist, but stated (as part of an attack on me): >>Racist comments of any kind of abhorrent, and perhaps the person shouldnt have used the word pimpish but you did not see his demeanor nor his mothers in court.
