The Times-Independent just received word from Canyonlands Field - TopicsExpress

The Times-Independent just received word from Canyonlands Field Airport Manager Kelly Braun that, effective immediately, Great Lakes Airlines will terminate passenger air service to the Moab airport. A letter from Great Lakes CEO Chuck Howell indicates that the airline has been severely impacted by new FAA pilot regulations that went into affect last year and we no longer have the pilots/crews to serve your community. This mean there will be no commercial passenger airline service to Moab until SkyWest takes over later this spring. Braun indicated he has contacted SkyWest to see if its possible for the company to begin scheduled service earlier than the March 2 date SkyWest originally planned. Well keep you posted as new information is available.
