The Tragedy of Rebellion Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house. Ezekiel 12:2 Who can forget the iconic picture of James Dean in a leather jacket and a good pair of jeans? The teen idol died at such a young age and became an icon as the rebel without a cause. Rebellion in our world in many cases is applauded and to be someone that does their own thing is seen as something to admire. However a rebel’s life span is not very long and often comes to a tragic end, which is always sad. God speaks to each and every person and urges them to hear His Word and do His will. God knows what is best for us and often will send signs our way to show us that He is there. However when we are in a rebellious state and not willing to surrender to Him, destruction is not far away. We need to have eyes that are open and ears that are willing to hear the truth. Jesus Christ came to restore us back to God and end the struggle between us and God, bringing us into a wonderful relationship with Him. This is open to all who come and are willing to leave rebellion behind and replace it with surrender. Prayer: Lord may I truly live a life of surrender to Your will. Amen
