The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau will now be known as Visit Tri-Cities, the nonprofit announced Tuesday. Earlier this month, Visit Tri-Cities unveiled a new marketing campaign for the Tri-Cities that promotes the area’s hometown feel and quality of life while differentiating it from other regional locales. The branding report cost $86,500 to develop. The name change was approved in July after being considered for several years, said Kris Watkins, president and CEO of Visit Tri-Cities. “The name change will more effectively communicate our mission to promote, market and sell the region as a preferred visitor destination,” Watkins said in a release.
