The Two Resurrections and Defending a Pre-tribulation - TopicsExpress

The Two Resurrections and Defending a Pre-tribulation Rapture “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection” John 5:28-29 describes two different resurrections. A resurrection for the saved and a resurrection for the lost. Rev. 20:4-6 tells us that the first resurrection is of the saved and it occurs 1,000 years before the resurrection of the lost. Rev. 20: 4-6 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” There are people who like to argue against a pre-tribulation rapture and some of the verses they like to use are Rev. 20:4-6. They want to defend a post-tribulation rapture by saying the first resurrection happened all at once. Well to use the words of Paul, I beseech you brethren, that you be ready to give a defense for the pre-tribulation rapture. Let’s compare the first resurrection (saved) with the second resurrection (lost). First resurrection unto life -occurs in three phases 1. Resurrection of Christ (First fruits- 1 Cor 15:23 & Rev. 1:5) 2. Resurrection (Rapture) of the Church (the dead in Christ- 1 Cor. 15:23 & 1 Thess 4:16) 3. Old Testament Saints & Tribulation Saints (Rev. 20:4, Isaiah 26:19, & Daniel 12:2) One thousand years later: Second resurrection unto death -The rest of the dead (unbelievers-Rev. 20:12-13) Remember: 2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. If more people actually practiced 2 Tim 2:15, they would clearly understand that the rapture is before the tribulation. It is the only one that fits.
