The Unabomber (Ted Kaczynski) matriculated to Harvard University at age 16, and subsequently enrolled at the University of Michigan, earning a PhD in mathematics. He taught at Michigan under a National Science Foundation fellowship for three years, then became the youngest professor ever hired by UC Berkeley. He was a test subject of CIA-sponsored MKUltra experiments, and many attribute this to the catalyst that drove him to isolate himself and commit acts of terrorism. Thank you Craig and Wikipedia for this little tidbit. Never knew Unibomber had such a backstory.
