The Vernon Parish King Day Coalition has announced events for this years Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. Events are as follows: -- 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, MLK Center; Community Service Project. -- 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, MLK Center; King Day Scholarship Banquet. Tickets are $20. -- 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, Johnson Temple C.O.G.I.C.; King Day Coalition/VMA Community Worship Center. -- 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, King Day Parade and Rally; line-up at Church of Transformation.
