The Vernon Parish Sheriffs Office received a report on July 1, 2014 regarding the theft of a cellular telephone from a customer at a local convenience store. The customer laid the cell phone on the counter and surveillance video shows a black female, in stripped pants, enter the store. The black female did approach the counter, lay her cell phone on top of the customers cell phone, and leave the store with both cell phones. Surveillance video shows the female quickly exit the store where she got into a Silver in color Chevrolet Imapla and departed the parking area of the store. The Vernon Parish Sheriffs Office is asking the public for assistance in identifying the person responsible for this theft.
