The WHO factsheet says, the average EVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks. The page was updated in September 2014 so I dont know if they include the patients in this article treated with zApp (the experimental drug that may or may not have contributed to their recovery). Most of the cases have occurred in third world countries, often in rural areas. The factor noted to improve survival rate in the CDC and WHO pages I read is whether the patient receives early treatment for their symptoms. Im interpreting this as meaning something along the lines of if you start treating them before they are severely dehydrated they are a lot easier to save. (After all, water makes up a large part of the human body.) Which means that in countries with outbreaks, the better the countrys medical facilities, supplies, and healthcare access are, the lower the fatality rate is likely to be as long as early cases are detected, i.e. treatment is sought and the disease is correctly diagnosed. WHO held an international consult about experimental vaccines on Monday and Tuesday. There are two experimental vaccines that were ready to begin testing; two phase 1 clinical trials began in September and the rest of the phase 1 trials in various places are supposed to begin in October.
