The Wonder of the Word - Day 3 Text: Luke 17:11-19 Topic: There are benefits to giving thanks. Thanksgiving is a normal response from a recipient. You do not have to be saved to praise God, you have to breathe to praise God. You cannot give thanks to anyone first before God, or thank anyone more than you thank God. Is. 42:8 (God does not share His glory). Two reasons why people dont thank God: Selfishness (These people feel that God owes them, they are proud - Phil. 2:3) and a short memory (These people forget where they were when God found them, and where they would be if He hadnt.). Lessons from Luke 17:11-19: • Jesus changed someones destiny while on His way to destiny. • The certain village that Jesus visited was not in His agenda. He was on His way to Jerusalem. • There were men who were lepers. There is a difference between a mans destiny and his condition. • For the lepers to get their healing, they had to be united and say the same thing. A house divided cannot stand. • There is a shout that will get God to change His agenda for you. • Jesus only sent His word, Go show yourself to the priest. • 9 of the men got cleansed (outward), only one got healed (inward). • The one leper fell down before Jesus, he had no time to be cute. • When the leper gave thanks, God gave him a short-cut. Thanksgiving gives you a short-cut and takes out the middle man. Give thanks to the Lord most high!!!!
