The World Bank must ensure that all decisions and funding - TopicsExpress

The World Bank must ensure that all decisions and funding regarding water go through institutions that represent people, not through private corporations, which are driven solely by shareholder profits. It is wrong for the World Bank to promote corporate water management and especially egregious when it advises governments to contract with corporations of which it is part owner, as it has done in Manila, for example. This classic conflict of interest undermines democratic accountability and results in profits getting prioritized over people’s access to water. Corporate Accountability International urges you to send a letter to U.S. representatives to the World Bank and World Bank leadership, calling on them to stand up for the human right to water by ending direct support for water corporations. At stake are the lives of the world’s poorest people and the effectiveness of billions of dollars in development aid. act.stopcorporateabuse.org/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=15317
