The benefits of an Africa Federation cannot be overemphasised. They include, but are not limited to the following. • Creating closer ties amongst the African sisters. • A sense of belonging that will envelop the new Federation as the challenge to succeed will propel all to greater heights. • It will open up Soroptimism in Africa by creating more awareness. This will give rise to more SI Federations and increased membership. • Independence breeds creativity. • By weaning from the mother Federations, the new Federation will be stronger and able to take decisions on its own. •SIGBI and SIE Federations’ sense of pride, as a new structure is established. • SIGBI and SIE, having ‘lost’ their clubs, will endeavour to explore some virgin ground, thereby increasing the awareness of Soroptimism and membership.
