The best thing about the Grammys this year was the set design. The staging and lighting was incredible. The artists were very disappointing as usual. America has lost its grip on music the same way that America has lost its position in the world in education. The decline in education is most likely the reason for the lack of musical talent. The music industry needs to go back to the way it was before music video when music was about real talent and not images and ass shaking. It was about true song writing, musicianship and vocals and not about how good you looked. Looks were not the main focus because no one could see you through the radio. Furthermore, this is the Grammys where were the true American art forms the Jazz and Gospel Artists? What about the Classical and Folk Artists? Where in the hell is the real talent? I know, at home because no one will give them the opportunity because they dont look a curtain way or their style doesnt fit with whats making money. In other words they are unique. The music industry has gone from as they say Sugar to Shit in the past 20 years and I hope that it gets better but it dont look promising. I really hope that I havent wasted a lifetime of studying music for it to continue to decline the way it is.
