The blood of our Soldiers watered farmlands, streets, rivers and fields on the shores of Liberia, when they needed Nigeria most to liberate them from the agonies of a civil war... we did this to save a nation and a generation. The sacrifices our gallant soldiers made in Liberia, inspired tears on the faces of loved ones back home and breed a generation of widows and orphans in barracks across our shores. We as a Nation have been playing the big-brother role in Africa and this is coming with great prize and burden... Patrick Sawyer (late ebola victim) had shown us that our burden is not heavy enough and he came to ebolarized our yoke. Ebola is now roaring on our shore, when i heard the news of the death of the nurse who treated Patrick, i bursted into tears. I wept, not because i fear ebola. I wept not because i fear death... i wept because a dream was cut short today by a virus that is putting so many on their toes across the globe. I wept because we helplessly watched a fellow compatriot died a death and none of us could go close to say goodbye...she was abandoned by friends and loved ones, not because she they wanted to, but ebola dug a pit that couldnt us go close enough to wish her goodbye. To the family of the deceased, i stand with you today at this solemn moment. Your daughter, probably your mother, wife and sister didnt die in vain. We may condemn her death, but we can never condemn the ideals and zeal that pushed her to give an ailing fellow a hand of life. She died upholding the a core mandate of her profession; which is to save lives. In the process of keeping this mandate of saving lives, her life was endangered and she became too unsafe to save and be saved. To my people of Nigeria, ebola is real on our shore, this solemn moments calls for intensive prayers and we must once more stand by each other and our Nation as we navigate through this ebolarized bitter path. We must not panic, let us be strong and hopeful that this mountain before us is climbable. Ebola is not strange to us. We have seen Ebolas manifested in our nation in different forms before. We have seen corruption ebola, insecurity ebola, religious ebola, poverty ebola, tribal ebola and the raging one; Boko ebola that is ebolarizing us daily with our blood gushing out daily to quench the hunger for blood inside the palace of terrorism. Upon all these ebolas, we are still moving. The God that has seen us through these ebolas is still alive, He would see us through Patrick Sawyers ebola. To the men and women, working tirelessly to reach out to fellow patriots who have been caught up in the web of ebola virus, i thank you, your labour is noted. And to those who are working tirelessly to minimise the scourge of this deadly virus, i also thank you... sleep less, until we can have ebola free sleep. Nigerians be strong, this cloud of ebola over us has fizzled out! In Christ my hope... God help Nigeria!
