The clipper is tracking through the viewing area right now and continues to bring snow to us. However, in many areas, it has been melting as it falls over the last several hours. This should continue, but areas east of I-380 are reporting partially ice covered roads (due to temps right around freezing) and areas along and north of a Dubuque to Charles City line are seeing snow covered roads. Temps there have been around or below freezing since yesterday, so they are primed to have it stick. It isnt adding up too quickly, but there will still be around an inch or so before the system moves away from Iowa. Temps wont change very much today and will drop into the 20s tonight, so anything that is just wet today will freeze tonight. That will make it interesting driving tonight and tomorrow morning, so be careful. We will warm back into the 30s tomorrow and aim for around 40 on Friday. The next system will track through on Sunday. That looks like it might have a little better chance of leaving a couple of inches of snow over the region, but we have to watch the track of the storm since any deviation will affect our snowfall amounts. And our temps. Right now we will be around the mid 30s Sunday with low to mid 30s on Monday. #hopeyouhavealotofwindshieldwasherfluid
