The comments made by Crispy about having more help for special needs whether CUPE or teachers it doesnt matter makes it seem to me that they want to make bigger classes with one lead teacher and more assistants under the Teachers supervision and planning. There seems to be a pattern, I am just fully connecting now. In Health Care in BC over the last several years the move has been to get lower paid staff doing more, taking on responsibilities and duties of higher paid professionals. For example LPN taking on duties that used to be an RN. More Midwives/Nurse Practitioners in place or MDs, Pharmacy Technicians (becoming licensed, new legislation made to allow this) taking on more of what used to be Pharmacist responsibilities. Im sure there are more examples. Maybe this has been brought up but Ive been experiencing this as a Healthcare worker first hand. Thoughts? Is this part of the Blueprint recently brought up?
