The cover photo that I chose is my Standardbred gelding Titan. I chose this picture of him to represent what can come from saving an abused/neglected/thrown away animal. Titan was a trotter. He was injured on the track, pin-fired on both fronts, and attempted to race again. I dont know what happened but a vet scratched him. His owner then decided that he was no longer useful. He was thrown away. A farrier found him at a meat auction. He was sick, skinny and bound for slaughter. Titan has the most amazing disposition. The farrier recognized that and rescued him from the meat truck, and took him to a therapeutic riding center for handicapped children. They put weight on him and let him heal. He was a great fit with the exception of his very rough gaits. And thats how he came to me. My diamond in the rough.
