The criminals crush the porcelain of a spark plug basically into the same sizes as coarse salt which they store in their mouth. This allows them to walk around empty handed, making them look innocent to people inside their vehicles. Once they have identified a target they simply remove the small piece of porcelain from their mouth and simply flick it at the window. The combination of saliva and the sharpness of the porcelain make their tool a lethal weapon. As they flick the porcelain they instantly reach for their target and just walk away.
