The downtown stretch of Maryland Parkway has already begun its renaissance with the March 2013 completion of the Robert L. Forbuss Building at The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada and the opening of Bronze Cafe at The Center shortly thereafter. As someone who walks a three-block stretch of Maryland Parkway to work each morning, I can vouch for the potential of the street. Trees line most of the sidewalks I walk along on the east side of the street. Most of the properties are well kept. The downtown cicadas are particularly noisy but they are hipster cicadas so they can sometimes be overheard making subtle hypersonic references to KNPR and vintage clothing.
