The eighth annual ploughing match held in Ballynure recently marked the start of a new season. The competition was organised by the Ballynure Vintage Tractor Ploughing Society, one of the province’s youngest societies, on the lands of Mr and Mrs Stanley Hall. With weather and ground conditions ideal, it looked as though the local ploughmen couldn’t wait to get back in action, with the match attracting an encouraging turnout of 35 entries.
