The final verdict on my poor beleaguered desktop... A virus got in and scrambled the data on the hard drive. Almost a total loss. All my bookmarks in Chrome. All my pictures from last spring and early summer. All my Google Earth placemarks. Toast. Aaron Litten did an outstanding job of cleaning up the mess and salvaging what he could. Having trouble getting online again though, and I cant get a cursor to show on the screen in Empire Earth. Hoping we can get that solved. Now Im running Win 8.1 and TOTALLY lost about where things are and how they work. Very disorienting. :( Fortunately, my laptop is still working and online. Oh, well. All in due time... But I really hate this sort of setback just as school is starting.
