The first church in honor of the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna consecrated in Tatarstan June 21 Metropolitan Anastasius of Kazan and Tatarstan visited the village Azbaba, Apastovski region, where he consecrated the newly built church in honor of the Holy Great Martyr Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. Significantly, it is still the only church in the Russian Orthodox Church, dedicated to this regal Martyr. He was assisted by Archpriest John Tkachuk, Archpriest Svyatoslav Mirganieva and the parish priest of St. Sergius Petrova in the church first Divine Liturgy. The church on this day could not accommodate all the faithful who came to the first service from Zelenodolsk and the nearby settlements within the prayer space. To share the joy of the celebrations came both Orthodox and Muslims. The parish told that they chose Alexandra Feodorovna for several reasons. Took into account that such a church was not yet in Russia. And this holy martyr, who lived recently, is an example of clear life and is close to many people. Also, Alexandra was the name of the mother of the philanthropist Valery Kudryashov, on means of which the church was built - a tradition to thank patrons, illuminating the church in memory of the saints, whose names were in his family before the revolution. Construction of the church was carried out for nearly three years at the expense of philanthropists and donations of villagers. Residents helped build the church, not only with money, but also participated in this case as labor force. Consecration of the church for the settlement was truly a festive event, because until then they had to go many kilometers for the Orthodox liturgy, Raif monastery or in church of Zelenodolsk and Kazan.
