The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes - TopicsExpress

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of the people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the Universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. ~ Black Elk , Sioux Holy Man Tuesday 340) “ I Do Not Have To Do Anything Except Remember Peace: The best gift we could give is to remember our home. A place of happiness, no matter what experience is occurring here. When we are in a very difficult situation and we begin to remember peace, to use another metaphor, we begin to remember total happiness, we make the choice to experience it. Remembering peace at the point of the difficulty begins to move the situation forward. Our remembrance of peace sets up a resonance in all our brothers and sisters and in everyone we love, so that, at some point, everything that is not happiness, that is not peace, that is just an illusion will fall away. The more we remember peace, the more we bring peace to earth. We do not necessarily have to do anything. We do not necessarily have to lead crusades or accomplish major projects, all we have to do is remember peace, love and happiness. As we remember this in each situation, everyone is freed, beginning with ourselves. Why do we suffer? Why would anyone who loves us want us to suffer? Our suffering is of our own making. When we say God or Spirit or our High Self or anyone *wants* us to suffer, that is our projection, it is us making our suffering about them. We *choose* suffering, in any given moment we can choose to focus our attention elsewhere, we can choose to focus our attention on peace, joy, love, happiness, on HOME. When we put ourselves in the place of suffering or sacrifice, we do so out of guilt. We’ll just punish ourselves so that the powers that be won’t have to. We’re saying, “Don’t send the lightning. I’m taking care of it down here. Look at how bad I’m hurting. Aren’t I a good person?” All we really need to do to receive this Love that we seek from without, is to find it within, just open to receive and be happy, and allow all the Love that wants to flow our way. This is remembering that peace, joy, and love are our true home.” - Chuck Spezzano, Ph.D., “If It Hurts It Isn’t Love” p. 367-368
